Marriage Legalization is the legalization of the marriage of a Muslim couple whose marriage has been carried out and meets the requirements for marital harmony but not registered at the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA). Marriage Legalization provides legal certainty for the wife and children born from the marriage, for example for the issuance of child birth certificates, distribution of inheritance, and so on. Marriage Legalization can only be submitted to the Religious Court as regulated in Article 7 of Presidential Instruction No. 1 of 1991 concerning the Dissemination of the Compilation of Islamic Law (“KHI”)
